Remember when you needed something delivered across Tirana, and the courier said “maybe tomorrow”? Or worse—”we’ll see”? That gap between needing something delivered now and the traditional next-day (or next-week) delivery timeline is exactly why we built Patoko Deliveries.
We’re testing a new feature that turns our network of 1,500+ drivers into an on-demand delivery fleet. Some drivers have opted into deliveries, and the early results show what we suspected: Tirana needed a better way to move packages across the city without the usual waiting game.
Patoko Deliveries operates on one simple principle: send anything, right now.
Traditional courier services work on batch schedules—they collect packages throughout the day, sort them at a hub, then dispatch them on routes. This system works for large volumes but struggles when you need something delivered in the next hour, not the next day.
Our approach removes the warehouse middleman. Open the app, request a courier, and a driver comes to your location. They pick up your package and drive straight to the recipient. No sorting facilities, no batch processing, no “we’ll get to it tomorrow.” Just point-to-point delivery with live GPS tracking from pickup to dropoff.
The interface mirrors our taxi booking system because it follows the same logic: you need a driver to go from Point A to Point B, whether that’s you or your package.
Here’s the exact flow:
Book your delivery through the Patoko app by entering pickup and delivery addresses. Take a photo of your item so the driver knows what they’re collecting. You’ll see an upfront fare before confirming.
Track pickup in real time as your assigned driver heads to your location. The app shows their route, estimated arrival time, and driver details—the same transparency you get when booking a taxi.
Hand off your package when the driver arrives at your curb. They confirm the item matches your photo, and you can add delivery instructions for the recipient.
Watch the delivery happen live on the map. You see the driver’s route to the destination, current location, and estimated delivery time.
Confirm delivery when the package reaches its destination. You get easy confirmation with a timestamp and delivery photo.
The entire process happens in the time it would take to explain your package to a traditional courier service.

We’re starting with taxi-based deliveries for three reasons: infrastructure, safety, and speed.
Patoko already has a network of licensed drivers operating across Tirana, Durrës, and other major cities. These drivers know the roads, understand the app, and can integrate deliveries into their existing routes without requiring a separate fleet.
Taxis also offer weather protection and security. Your package rides in a vehicle with a licensed driver who’s trackable in real time. For documents, small parcels, or items that need protection from rain, this matters.
But taxis aren’t the endgame. We’ll be testing motorcycle courier integration for smaller packages that need to bypass traffic. Motorbikes can navigate Tirana’s traffic areas faster and cost less to operate, which means cheaper delivery rates once we launch this option.
Our potential plan includes hybrid pricing where motorbikes handle quick, short-distance deliveries within the Tirana ring at capped rates, while taxis continue serving larger items or longer routes. We’re still determining the exact pricing multipliers, but our early models suggest motorbike deliveries could run at a fraction of taxi delivery costs. Want to help solve this?
Traditional delivery in Tirana might come with frustrations: packages sent to the wrong address, couriers who arrive when you’re not home, delivery attempts with no notification, or contact challenges.
Patoko Deliveries removes this anxiety through constant visibility. You’re not wondering where your package is or if it actually got picked up. You watch it happen.
Our live tracking is critical – When you can see your driver approaching the delivery address, you can notify the recipient to be ready. When a recipient isn’t home, you know immediately because the driver hasn’t marked it delivered. There’s no “we left it with a neighbor” ambiguity.
This transparency helps both senders and recipients coordinate better. If you’re sending documents to a business meeting, you know exactly when they’ll arrive. If you’re delivering a surprise to a friend, you can time your call to match the package arrival.
For businesses, this visibility extends to customers. Local shops who plan to use Patoko for deliveries can tell customers “your order is 12 minutes away” instead of “it shipped today.” That difference matters when competing with international e-commerce that’s trained customers to expect precise delivery windows.
Patoko Deliveries is in beta, which means we’re testing with real users while simultaneously improving the system. Here’s what’s working well and what needs refinement:
What works now: The core delivery flow from booking to dropoff operates smoothly. Drivers understand the system, pickup coordination is reliable, and live tracking provides accurate locations. Most deliveries complete within 30-60 minutes across Tirana, depending on distance and traffic.
What we’re improving: Pricing optimization is ongoing. Current rates match taxi fares because drivers are using the same vehicles and routes. We’re evaluating lower rates for delivery-only orders.
The recipient notification system needs better coordination. We’re testing several approaches to ensure your recipient is able to easily see when items are coming. Our goal is to make it a magically easy experience for you.
Patoko Deliveries works best for time-sensitive deliveries within Tirana where waiting until tomorrow isn’t an option.
Business use cases: Local restaurants and shops can offer real-time delivery to customers without building their own courier network. A bakery can deliver custom cakes for same-day orders. Small e-commerce businesses can compete with next-day shipping by offering same-hour delivery. With the holiday season in full swing, businesses can become the best option for last minute gifts.
Personal use cases: Forgot important documents at home before a meeting? Send them via Patoko. Need to return borrowed keys to a friend across town? Book a courier. Sending a last-minute gift for someone’s birthday? Track it arrive in real time.
Emergency deliveries: Medical documents, forgotten phone chargers before a flight, urgent legal papers—anything that can’t wait for traditional courier schedules.
Patoko started as a taxi app solving ride availability in Albania, but the core problem was always broader: moving things efficiently across cities without the friction of traditional systems while helping local businesses.
We added car rentals because travelers needed flexible transportation. We built upfront fares and fixed pricing on key routes because people were tired of pricing surprises. We integrated Stripe and POK Payments for card transactions because cash-only services exclude digital-first users.
Deliveries are the natural extension of this infrastructure. The same drivers who understand scheduled airport pickups and 24/7 availability can also understand package deliveries. The same app interface that simplified taxi booking can simplify courier requests.
This integration matters for users who need multiple services. If you’re running errands across Tirana, you might book a taxi for yourself while simultaneously sending a delivery to a different location. Or schedule a car rental while coordinating package pickups for a move. The goal is one app that handles multiple transportation needs without jumping between platforms.
We’re actively developing three major improvements to Patoko Deliveries:
Motorcycle couriers will handle smaller packages and navigate Tirana’s traffic more efficiently than taxis. Early pricing models suggest these deliveries could cost significantly less than current taxi-based rates, making frequent deliveries more accessible for both businesses and personal use.
Business integration tools will allow local shops and restaurants to process bulk orders with discounted rates. Right now, businesses can easily use the standard passenger app, but we’re building merchant-specific features including delivery tracking dashboards, customer notification systems, and volume pricing.
Coverage expansion beyond the Tirana ring to include Durrës, Vlorë, and other cities where Patoko operates. The same real-time delivery model works anywhere we have driver networks, so extending this service follows naturally as we refine the core system.
The timeline for these features depends on user feedback and operational testing. We’re prioritizing motorcycle integration first because it unlocks lower pricing and faster deliveries for the most common package sizes.
If you’re already using Patoko for taxis or car rentals, you have access to deliveries through the same app. The booking flow is straightforward: select deliveries instead of rides, enter addresses, take a photo of your package, and confirm.
For businesses interested in testing deliveries, reach out through the app or contact support. We’re offering early access to local shops and restaurants who want to experiment with real-time delivery before the formal business features launch.
Traditional courier services often operate on schedules designed for international shipping, not local same-day needs. This gap matters more as e-commerce grows and customers expect Amazon-level transparency and speed.
Patoko Deliveries isn’t trying to replace postal services or international couriers. We’re filling the gap for urgent, local deliveries where waiting 24 hours isn’t acceptable and traditional options don’t offer real-time tracking or flexible scheduling.
The beta phase helps us understand what Tirana actually needs from a delivery service versus what we assumed people wanted.
As we collect feedback and refine the service, the goal remains clear: make delivery as simple as booking a taxi, with the same transparency and reliability. Send anything now, track it live, and know exactly when it arrives. No waiting, no wondering, no calling customer service to ask where your package went.
If you’re in Tirana and need something delivered today, open the Patoko app and test deliveries. We’re still figuring out the details, but the core premise works: real-time pickup, direct delivery, full tracking. Everything else is just refinement.
